A Tribute to Pauline A. Loustaunau Pauline A. Loustaunau, (Aunt Polly to many) a long-time resident of El Paso TX, died Saturday, September 19, 2015, in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Born a coal miner’s daughter in 1924, Pauline received her bachelor’s degree from Strayers College in Washington DC. After graduation, she went on to lead a very colorful and successful career with the Department of the Defense. At age 18, she worked at the Pentagon in the Counter-Intelligence Corp. As a stenographer and secretary she debriefed military personnel returning from war. Pauline continued her education attending James Madison College in Harrisonburg VA, and the University of Idaho. Traveling the world in service to her country, Pauline was stationed with a Special Investigation unit in Tokyo, Japan. It was there that she met the man of her dreams, the late Joaquin Arturo (Art) Loustaunau, a sailor in the U.S Navy. A devoted wife of 47 years, they moved to El Paso and had one child, Ray (Bo) Loustaunau. For the last 17 years of her career, she provided financial counseling for military families at Ft. Bliss through the Army Community Service Department. Pauline retired with over 34 years of government service and was recognized with many awards and commendations for superior performance. A woman of great faith, she attended St. Raphael’s Catholic Church and was often quoted as saying, “Jesus is my buddy”. Pauline is survived by her son Ray (Bo) Loustaunau, of the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX area; where she lived with him the final years of her life. Brothers: Frank Anderson, and Raymond Anderson. Viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home- East 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday September 29, 2015 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church 2301 Zanzibar Rd. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
