Peter A. Moore Sr.

January 13, 1930 — July 18, 2025

El Paso

Moore, Peter A. Sr., age 95

Born in Panama and resided in El Paso for over 60 years, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 18, 2025. Mr. Moore was a beloved husband to Dorothy G. Moore of 69 years of marriage who went home to be with the Lord in 2021, father, grand-father, and great-grandfather affectionately known to everyone as “Daddy and Granddaddy”. Mr. Peter A. Moore Sr. is survived by children, son Ricardo; daughter Jean; daughter Shanna (James); son Peter Jr (Heather); grandchildren, Vickie (Michael), Nicole, Venera (Marquis), Shalena, Sabrina (Antonio), Christopher-James, Chrystal, Chrystin (Bryan), Chrystina and -Peter III (January 2026); great-grandchildren, Jasmine (Mike), Jalen, Amaya, Taytum, Camdyn, Zari, Sollie, Patrice, Braylon, Sebastian, Cyan, How do we thank our extended family? Our Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather (lovingly known as Granddaddy) was truly loved and blessed by family, and those who adopted our family as their own. It is difficult for us to list the number of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and beautiful friends who are all considered family. They loved Peter Moore just as much as their immediate family. When Mr. Moore arrived in El Paso, we were a family of six, our family has grown more than one could ever imagine. Mr. Moore retired from the US Army SFC and went on to spend 10 years as a Civil Servant. As a member of the NAACP Mr. Moore would assist members of the community in “Righting the Wrongs” in various work situations. He became known as the “Go To” man. Our church family has supported us through happy times (weddings, christenings) as well as sad times. Mr. Moore was a long-time member of Chapel 4 and volunteered mentoring, by example, the young couples within the congregation. Volunteering wherever needed. Throughout the years Mr. Moore gave his time and donations of food and supplies to the Soup Kitchen and the Women’s Shelter. Mr. Moore instilled in his family the philosophy of helping others and always “Pay It Forward”. Mr. Moore will always be remembered for his laughter, smile and kind heart. His favorite phrase was three scores and ten, I made it. He left us at four scores and fifteen, what a journey!

Blessings to all
