Ramon Arturo Montes

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ramon Arturo Montes, who died on May 5th, 2023 in his hometown of El Paso, TX. He was born on March 8th, 1942, and lived a long and fulfilling life. He was a beloved husband to Doris E. Montes and a loving father to Raymond A. Montes and Debra L. Walker.

Ramon was a self-employed plumber who took pride in his work, and used his skills to help many community members over the years. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether they were friends or strangers. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted man who touched the lives of all who knew him.

Ramon is survived by his wife Doris, son Raymond, daughter Debra, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as his brother Ralph and sisters Guadalupe, Martha and Edna. He was preceded in death by his father Arturo P. Montes, mother Hortencia Esparza and sisters Blanca and Emma.

The Montes family will receive friends and family on May 16, 2023 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm at Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast 4631 Hondo Pass Drive where friends are welcome to share their favorite memories about Ramon.  A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30am at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa.

Ramon Arturo Montes is an inspiration for everyone - he proved that having a heart filled with kindness towards others can make this world a better place. His legacy will live on through those whose lives he impacted during his time here with us.
