Rebecca G. Espinoza

August 16, 1946 — January 29, 2024

El Paso, Texas

This is the life story of Rebecca G. Espinoza who passed away peacefully at her home on January 29, 2024. She was 77. Becky (who was also known as Massie) was the proud daughter of Ramon and Inez Orona. She was born on August 16, 1946 fifteen months after her father was honorably discharged from his military service in WW2 due to injury. She was a sister to three beautiful women by the names of Cecilia, Yolanda, and Alicia. She was the youngest of her siblings. In her last years of life, she would often speak of her eagerness to be with her parents and sisters in Heaven. The spark in her heart faded with each goodbye and we all knew where her spirit wanted to be.

Becky was a dedicated wife to her husband, Miguel. She was a strong and loving mother. Her first child was a daughter she named Amy Annette, and although she wanted another child, she waited a full five years before having her second, a son she named Mark Kevin. Her goal was to fully focus on one child until they started school and then focus on the other. She wanted her time spent with each to be valuable. Twenty some years later her motherly heart expanded when she embraced another daughter.   Heather may not have been her daughter by blood, but she was by love and made sure to step up her role as mom when Heather lost her own.

Becky was an exquisite grandmother who loved her grandchildren dearly. She made over Lucinda and Dylan every moment she could. She fed them, changed their diapers and cuddled them every time she saw them. And she never stopped. Not even now that they are teenagers. Her guidance and love for them will be cherished for all time. Becky was also a treasured friend. She was always ready to listen and to catch your tears if you needed her to. She was there to laugh with you, celebrate with you and pray for you wherever you were in life.

Most importantly she was a woman of faith. She believed in the power of prayer and asked her God for all that she needed. She prayed for people earnestly and with conviction. Her faith inspired others, and now she is home in the arms of her Heavenly Father and surrounded by her parents and sisters.

Rebecca is survived by her husband, Miguel Espinoza. Her daughters Amy Espinoza, Heather Hardin and grandchildren Lucinda Inez Hardin Espinoza & Dylan Patrick Hardin Espinoza. Her son, Mark Espinoza and his wife, Suki Espinoza and son, Ryan Cruz.
