Ricardo Antonio Alvarez, 76, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016. He was born on April 9, 1939 in Juarez, Mexico. He is preceded in death by parents Juan Alvarez and Esther Alvarez Portillo, brother Juan Alvarez and sister Aminta Aguilar.
He is survived by his wife Azucena Alvarez, daughter Lisa Hall and son-in-law Kirk Hall, daughter Debbie Alvarez, son Ricardo J. Alvarez, two grandchildren Delilah Thomas and Ricardo Alvarez, one great-grandson Ayden Gasco, brother Alejandro Alvarez, and three sisters: Aurora Alvarez Portillo, Teresa Alvarez Portillo, and Marta Alvarez Portillo.
As a young man, he lived in El Paso, Texas and attended El Paso High School. At the age of 17 he joined the United Stated Air Force in Laredo, Texas. Ricardo went to Eastern New Mexico University from 1964 to 1966. With his background as a mechanic he became owner of few gas stations. Be in peace. We love you!
A Memorial Service will be held at 9:30am on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. A Committal Service will follow at 11:00am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
