Our Father, Ricardo Limas Jr. entered heaven peacefully on June 14, 2025 in El Paso, Texas.
Dad was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents; Ricardo Limas Sr. and Antonia G. Limas; his loving wife of 70 years Martha V. Limas; Grandson Michael A. Ramos and Granddaughter Martha Lopez; and his siblings Heriberto Limas, Antonio Limas, Rosalinda Acosta and Bertha Saucedo. He is survived by his children Martha L. Pena (Ventura), Richard Limas (Lupita), Nancy Limas and Gloria Limas. His siblings Jaime Limas, Maggie Esparza and Celia Rodriguez; his grandchildren Angelique Lopez, Jack Lopez, James Ramos and Jackie Barron Ramos and 11 great grandchildren. He was loved dearly and treasured by all.
Dad was the rock that held everybody together. His faith in God was unfailing. No matter what you were going through his beautiful smile and that twinkle in his eye let you know all would be well. He would point up and say the Man upstairs is in control. Have Faith. Dad was full of life. He would sing, dance and joke around. Always putting a smile on our faces. He loved to play golf, swim, attend basketball games. Always active. He gave us the opportunity to grow in many ways. Yet, he was quite the disciplinarian.
Dad was a proud Bowie Bear graduate. After high school he enlisted in the Navy and fought in the Korean War. Once home he became a member of the El Paso Police Department where he retired as a Lieutenant. While with the Department he coached the El Paso Police Department Little League Baseball team helping the youth.
He helped the Catholic Youth Organization, taught Catechism and would take the baseball team on hikes to Mt. Cristo Rey and to the CYO camp in Villa Madonna Ruidoso. Dad was also involved with the schools. He was part of the PTA, and a Boy Scout Leader. He was a realtor and sometimes we would keep him company. He worked for the Border Patrol. Always teaching us about the law and rules. He loved being a Bailiff and working with Judge Guaderrama. He also explained how important attending church and assisting in events would make us a better person. We should always help others. He joined the Knights of Columbus, taught bible school, catechism, became a deacon, took communion to those who could not attend church, helped at The Our Lady of the Light Church bazaars.
Dad was respected and honored by many. He loved his family and friends deeply. He allowed us to be ourselves and supported us in many ways. Always reminding us to give thanks to God above.
We, the family of Ricardo Limas Jr., would like to thank Cecilia Mariscal, Samantha White and Jose Jimenez of Homebound Med for tenderly and lovingly taking care of our Father. The medical team at El Paso LTAC Hospital and Trinity of El Paso Home Health & Hospice. They treated Dad with compassion, managed his pain and provided comfort and support. Thank you.
