Ricardo Ramos Jr.

Ricardo Ramos Jr., born January 2,1935, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 07, 2025, in Anthony, Texas surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend who will be dearly missed. Ricardo is preceded in death by his parents: Ricardo and Isabel Ramos, his siblings: Raul M. Ramos, Ruben M. Ramos, and Consuelo Padilla, as well as his grandson: Richard James Holguin. He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Maria Elena Jacquez Ramos, his daughters: Rosemarie R. Holguin (pid, Juan Almaraz), Melissa R. Arellano (Jose Luis), and Christina Ramos, his grandchildren: Michelle Renee Vela, Stephanie Marie Mendoza, Sarah Mendoza, and Samantha Mendoza, as well as his great-grandchildren: Michael Vela, Ethan Vela, Joseph Richard VanErt. Aiden Young, Matthew Becker, and Adam Vidal II. He is also survived by many extended friends and family to honor and cherish his memory.

Ricardo joined the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and after his time in the military married his wife and started their family. Finding work as a Meat Cutter at a local grocery store, Ricardo would make his way to the Ft Bliss Commissary and retire after decades of service as the Meat Market Manager. Not yet finished with working and helping others, Ricardo started at Gadsden Independent School District as a Teacher’s Assistant and went on to retire from there in the Special Ed Dept. at La Union Elementary. Upon concluding his career, Ricardo looked forward to spending quality time at home with his wife and family.

Pallbearers are Christina Ramos, Jose Luis Arellano Jr., Javier Vela, Michael Vela, Ethan Vela, and Joseph VanErt. Honorary Pallbearers include Michelle Renee Vela, Stephanie Marie Mendoza, Samantha Mendoza, Sarah Mendoza, and Aiden Young.
