Richard Harold Campion

Richard Harold Campion, 79, returned to his heavenly home on Monday, July 06, 2026. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold W. Campion and Mary V. Mosby, and his brother, William J. Campion. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judy Campion; his beloved children, Jennifer and Jeffrey Pendergist, Douglas W. Campion, Robert and Kelly Campion; his grandchildren, Natasha, Andrew, Gracie, Kate, Sarah, Joshua, Jordyn, Samantha, Michael; and his sister, Gwen Mayer. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends who cherish and honor his memory.

Richard was a lifelong El Pasoan. He graduated from Burges High School and UTEP. He earned a degree in education and taught at Terrace Hills Middle School. He left teaching to work in the family business and owned and operated Campion Carpet Service for over 60 years. He had many lifelong customers that truly became friends. While family was his greatest love, he was passionate about El Paso baseball and great Mexican food. In his retirement, he was active in the El Paso Model Railroad Club and supported those battling cancer.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. Funeral will commence at 11:00 am on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. Internment will follow at 12:30 pm at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Road, Santa Teresa, NM 88008.
