Robert J. "B.J." Logan
Robert J. "B.J." Logan, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in El Paso, Texas, on June 21, 2026.
He was born on January 5, 1936, in Heflin, Louisiana, to Erie Irene Wimberly Logan and Mack David Logan.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie Anne "Texas" Logan, with whom he shared a loving and devoted 65-year marriage that began in Fontainebleau, France, in 1957.
He is survived by his daughters, Catherine Rademacher and her husband, Thomas, and Liz Logan; and by his brother, Bill Logan.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force beginning in 1956, when he was stationed with NATO in France. It was there that he met and married the love of his life, Marie Anne. Together they welcomed both of their daughters while living in France.
After returning to the United States, Robert dedicated his professional life to public service and banking. He worked for the Small Business Administration in several cities before beginning a successful career in banking at various financial institutions. His final banking positions brought him back to El Paso, Texas, where he and Marie Anne later enjoyed their retirement.
Robert lived a full and active life. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed playing tennis and bridge with his wife. They truly loved doing everything together. When Marie Anne developed a passion for tole painting, Robert happily learned to cut the wooden figures she used in her artwork, a testament to his love, support, and unwavering devotion to her.
To his daughters, he was a wonderful father who made up imaginative bedtime stories, loved to sing, and always had a joke to tell. His warmth, humor, and gentle spirit created memories that will be cherished forever.
Robert will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to family, his strong work ethic, and the deep love he shared with his wife and daughters. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and treasured memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his former caregivers, Yolie Gonzalez and Giselle Flores, and to his current caregivers, Cecilia Salinas and Maria Rodriguez, whose extraordinary compassion, kindness, thoughtfulness, and devoted care brought comfort, dignity, and friendship to Robert's life. Their support and friendship will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
A graveside service with military honors and a Catholic committal service will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas, on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home.
