Robert G. Neill, Jr., 70, passed away at home on May 30, 2015. Born in Passaic, N.J. to Lt. Col. Robert Neill and Mildred Ziegler, Robert moved with his family to El Paso in 1957. He graduated from Irvin High School in 1962 as valedictorian and was a War Memorial Scholar at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. He graduated in 1966. He attended UT Austin School of Law, graduating with a J.D. in 1970.
Robert married Rosemary Vivero on December 14, 1968. Together they moved to El Paso in 1970. Robert and Rosemary had two children, Alexander and Margaret. He was a vice president for El Paso National Bank in the Trust Department before transitioning to private practice in 1980. He was a probate attorney and a founding member of the El Paso Probate Bar Association and a Fellow of the Texas Bar Association Foundation. He was a member of the founding board El Paso Community Foundation.
He was a proud Texas Democrat and an active member of the El Paso Democratic Party. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rosemary, his son, Alex and daughter-in-law, Laura Calvillo Neill, his daughter Margaret, his granddaughters Olivia and Evelyn, his brother David Neill, and numerous nieces and nephews.
