Robert W. Simmerman

Robert W. Simmerman, age 69, passed away on May 29, 2026, in El Paso, Texas surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father, William. He is survived by his loving wife, Anita; his mother, Ruth; his son, Anthony and daughter-in-law Angie; his daughter Pamela and daughter-in-law Gabby. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Alex and Evan.

Born on January 17, 1957, in Pensacola, Florida, Robert lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a willingness to help others. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before retiring from military service. Never one to slow down, Robert continued working after retirement as a truck driver, eventually owning and operating his own truck while traveling to all 48 contiguous states. He also served as a generator mechanic in Afghanistan, Iraq, and at Fort Bliss.

Robert was a man of many talents and interests who found joy in working with his hands. Whether he was building woodworking projects, repairing something that was broken, or tending to his garden, he took pride in creating and caring for the things around him. Family and friends knew they could always rely on him for a helping hand, practical advice, or a share of the pecans, fruits, and vegetables he worked so hard to grow. During his years in Germany, he created countless treasured memories with his family, stories and experiences that will continue to be cherished and shared for years to come.

Robert was deeply loved by his family and friends. His reliability, creativity, sense of humor, and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who knew him. Forever loved, forever remembered.
