Roberto "Beto" Güereña

Roberto Guerena, 59, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Roberto was born in Tijuana, Mexico, on November 14, 1966. He graduated from Andress High School and attended UTEP.

Roberto worked for the Border Patrol for 25 years, where he spent his career stationed in Deming, NM, and retired in 2020. His hard work as a Supervisory Agent and his dedication to the job are shown in his years of service. He enjoyed retirement by spending time with those he loved most. He had a silly sense of humor and happily took on the role of the funny uncle. He only showed his kind, generous heart to those closest to him and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He indulged in the occasional cigar and glass of brandy, which was a comfort of his. Though nothing came close to the love he had for his family and friends. His family takes comfort knowing that he is now reunited with his loving older brother and parents. A very big thank you to the Border Patrol for their continued support.

Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Cecilia Guerena, and brother Francisco Guerena. He leaves behind his sister Cecilia and husband Tony, nephew Thomas, sister-in-law Dianne, and nieces Gabriella and Cristina, along with other beloved family members. Also his loyal dogs, Terry and Sheba.
