Rodolfo M. Rivera

Rodolfo M. Rivera, age 79, passed away on September 2, 2015, after a long and difficult struggle with cancer, we want to say thank you very much to the El Paso Cancer Treatment Center. "Rudy" was born on April 5, 1936 to parents Ramon and Elvira Rivera in El Paso, Texas. He attended and was an active alumni of Bowie High School, class of 1953. He served his country by serving in the U.S. Air Force for four years, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He worked as a Civil Service employee for 45 years. Attaining the position of Division Chief to the Plans & Operations of Public Works and Logistics and retiring in June 2003. He was the patriarch of the family, an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys, loved camping and western line dancing. He is survived by his wife, Amy whom he married on August 28, 1960; his children, David, Robert (Lorena), & Gina. Grandchildren, Jonathan, Amanda, Jordan, Taylor, Samantha, Nathaniel, and Lisette, his brother Fred, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and old time friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30am on Friday, September 11, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
