Romelia O. Pacheco, 82, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones, Saturday, September 7, 2013. She was born on October 3, 1930 to Leandro and Sara Ontiveros. Romelia was a resident of Smeltertown and later moved to El Paso. She was a seamstress, a foster parent, and avid gardener. She was a fan of the arts and enjoyed playing the piano, singing, baking, and painting ceramics. Romelia will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leandro and Sara Ontiveros, her brothers Reynaldo, Raul, and Roberto, husband George, son Rafael and daughter Hermelinda. She is survived by her brother, Rogelio (Martha) Ontiveros, her three sons, George (Belenda), Edward (Graciela), and Ismael Pacheco; five grandchildren, George (Amanda) III, Rolando, Melissa (Jesse) Saenz, Lisa (Alfredo) Garcia, Vanessa (Edgar) Zapata; five great grandchildren, Israel, Halie, Isaac, Victoria, and Leah. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Vigil will be held at 7:00PM on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30AM on Monday, September 16, 2013 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Inurnment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1:00PM. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home West.
