Ronald W. Geary, born December 3, 1942, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, in El Paso, Texas after a two-year battle with cancer.
Ronald lived a life marked by service, dedication, and deep love for his family and community. He proudly served in the United States Army for 28 years, retiring as a Sergeant Major. During his military career, he completed two tours in Vietnam and was stationed at bases in Korea and Germany. After attending the Sergeant Major Academy as a student, he later returned as an instructor. Following his military retirement, Ronald began a second career with the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked for 20 years before retiring again
Ronald found joy in bowling and was an avid sports fan, especially passionate about Formula 1 racing and soccer
He is survived by his sons, David (Ann) and Ronald, his daughters, Risa and Renell (Michael) ten grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. Ronald’s family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His commitment to nurturing relationships and creating lasting memories will forever resonate in their hearts.
Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Della Geary, as well as his parents, Katherine and Richard Spotwood, and his siblings Patricia Geary Page (Willis), Barbara Geary Tatum (Robert), and Richard Spotwood (Cheryl). He also leaves behind eight nieces and nephews, ten great-nieces and nephews, and seven grand-nieces and nephews, all residing in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Ronald will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His legacy of service, kindness, and family will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
