Ronney Herrera

Ronney Romero Herrera, age 19, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 01, 2025 in El Paso, Texas. He was a compassionate and humble son, brother, friend and will be dearly missed. Ronney was active in the Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Project he planned, directed, and built an extension to the building to VFW Post 4384, a veterans organization in Anthony, NM. Attending Canutillo High School, he was a member of the Law Enforcement Training Program and graduated in 2024. He was selected and participated in the FBI youth Academy in El Paso, TX and also attended a Youth National Security Conference in Washington, D.C. in 2023. He enjoyed participating in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) at Zen Academy in Canutillo, TX. Ronney was in his first year at the University of Texas-El Paso (UTEP) and had just completed his first semester, where he was seeking a Computer Science degree. Ronney is preceded in death by his sister: Josephine G. Herrera. He is survived by his parents: Ronney Herrera and Rae Angeline Francisco, and his sister: Jessica J. Herrera. He is also survived by many extended friends and family to cherish and honor his memory. 

A Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Homes-West with a Holy Rosary to commence at 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere St. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave. A Reception will follow and will be held at VFW Post 4384 Gadsden Memorial, Anthony, NM located at 1495 North 4th Street.
