Rosa Maria Alderete

Rosa Maria Alderete, 66, passed away on February 14, 2014. Rosa Maria was a life long El Pasoan and a graduate of Bowie High School and El Paso Community College. She worked for the Region 19 Headstart Program and loved helping children and their families. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Leticia Alderete and Sandra Mata, son-in-law: Jorge Mata, grandchildren: Ricardo Veloz, Jr., Marissa Veloz, George Mata, Priscilla Amanda Veloz and Sophia Andrea Dominguez, great-grandchildren: Joshua Chris Jimenez, Isaac Veloz, Rosalie Mata and Amber Rose Saenz, brother: Andres Lopez, Jr., sisters: Maria Moreno, Refugio Carreon, Guadalupe Cedillo and Ofelia Hernandez. Rosa Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Andres and Andrea Lopez, brother: Abraham Lopez, sisters: Soledad Munoz, Josefina Villalba and Carmen De la O. Mom, we love you and miss you! You will forever be in our hearts. “Then our Lord stood before me, with warmth and love in His eyes. He said,” Every time you gave your life to Me, it became my life, My hardships, and My struggles. Each point of light in your life is when you stepped aside and let Me shine through, until there was more of me than there was of you. May all your quilts be threadbare and worn, allowing Christ to shine through!” Visitation for Rosa Maria will be from 5-9 p.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East with Rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Santa Lucia Catholic Church.
