Rosario Estela Rico Olivas

Rosario Estela Rico Olivas, age 81, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. A woman of deep Catholic faith, she devoted her life to God and to those she loved, serving her family with quiet strength, generosity, and devotion as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Rosario was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Inocente Olivas and Maria Dolores Mendoza, her brother, Javier Olivas, and her grandchild, Sarah Ann Avalos.She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Castulo C. Rico, her beloved daughters, Yolanda Estela Olivas (Alfredo), Rosario Yvonne Miller (Mace), Marta Patricia Avalos (Javier), and Linda Christina Tavizon (Adrian), her siblings, Luz Maria Olivas, Octavio Olivas, Dolores Drusina, Jaime Olivas, and Jorge Olivas, her grandchildren, Samantha Alexa Avalos, Adam Joshua Tavizon, Alyssa Nicole Vanderlinden (Jacob), Cole Ryan Miller, Emily Ann Tavizon, Olivia Alexa Olivas, and Luke Logan Miller, and many nephews and nieces. 

A Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Homes–West. A Rosary will commence at 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at St. Luke Catholic Church, 930 Redd Road. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Drive, El Paso, Texas 79906.Services are entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes–West, 480 N.
