Rosemarie Senger Barton
On March 19, 1935, Rosemarie was born on a South Dakota farm. She made loving homes in Colorado, Dallas, and El Paso, and was called to her final home by the Good Lord on July 26, 2015. Rosemarie was the first born child of Wendelin and Katie Senger, who were homesteaders in rural Glencross, South Dakota. Harsh farming conditions were eased when duties were shared with her large family. There was always time for singing and harmonizing with her six siblings while doing chores. She was swept off her feet and moved to El Paso when she married Daniel O'Leary. They had four beautiful and adoring children: Randy, Kathy, Kelly and Danny. In 1976, she found her soul mate when she married Clarence Barton. They moved to Irving, Texas, and lived there until 1999, when they resettled back to El Paso. Rosemarie found great comfort in the Catholic Church and was active at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Parish. She welcomed the fellowship with other parishioners, and enjoyed singing in the choir. A choir trip to Germany was definitely one of the highlights of her life. Her many passions were cooking, especially baking, Avoning with friends, and spreading love and cheer with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Goodwill and a sense of community were shared with all the people she would meet. She was humble, selfless, quiet and always tried to see the best in everyone. Her cup was filled by her many relationships with family, friends and the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, and her parents. She is survived by her children: Randy O'Leary and his family, Kathy O'Leary Murray and her family, Kelly O'Leary and his family, and Danny O'Leary and his family. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters whom she loved very much: Elaine Niemeier, Donna Quinn, Kathy Daczewitz, Rodney Senger, Terry Senger, and Dennis Senger, and their families. She was blessed with a very large and wonderful family that she loved immensely. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Parish, research on Alzheimer’s disease, or a charity of your choice. There will be a memorial service at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Parish on Wednesday, July 29 at 10 am. A grave site ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Glencross, South Dakota (time to be determined).
