Ruben Miguel Herrera

RUBEN MIGUEL HERRERA passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the age of 84. He was a loving husband, father, brother , grandfather and will be greatly missed. He was a logntime musician, director and composer. He played trumpet and conducted several orchestras in the Big Band era playing in many prestigious night clubs. The highlight of his career as a director of La Fiesta night club a variety style night club that Catered to the upper class that brought entertainers and singers of international status such as, Johnny Mathis, Sammy Davis Jr., Vicky Carr and many others. Late in his career he was the director of the Instituto Technologico de Ciudad Juarez. He is survived by his wife Librada Herrera, sons Miguel Jesus Herrera and his wife Maria, Javier Herrera and his wife Laurencia, Gerardo Herrera, Sergio Rene Herrera and his wife Lisa, his sister Teresa Herrera . He was also survived by his 11 Grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM, with Holy Rosary at 7:00PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Rite of the Christian Burial will held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 5750 Doniphan.
