Ruben Santa Cruz

Ruben Santa Cruz, 71, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Ruben was born in El Paso, TX, on November 17, 1954.

Ruben was a respiratory therapist for 20+ years and worked at both Providence and Sierra Hospital. He had various jobs after and lived in Houston, TX, and Seattle, WA, for over 15 years before returning to his hometown of El Paso, TX. He was an amazing cook and baker and loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed mechanic work and fixing things. He was truly a jack of all trades. He was a huge jokester and always made everyone laugh. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Ruben was preceded in death by his mother, Manuela Santa Cruz. He leaves behind his son, Ruben Santa Cruz Jr., and daughters Elvia “Yaya” Santa Cruz and Sonia Inez Santa Cruz. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be held on October 26, 2026, from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m., with the prayer service beginning at 2:00 pm.
