Rudolfo "Rudy" C. Laija

Rodolfo C. Laija, “Rudy”, 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 surrounded by his family. Rudy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, geat-grandfather and friend. He owned his own construction company and assisted with the construction of LAX International Airport and the structure of several Los Angeles freeways. Rudy was a previous Union President of the Los Angeles Cement Masons #627. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Abby Laija; Sons; Ruben (Lily), Rudy Jr., and Rogelio (Anna); Daughter; Laura Laija Christopherson (Joseph) ; his 3 granddaughters, Ruby, Emerald and Abigail; and 2 great granddaughters, Ella and Rose. He is also survived by his brother, Ernesto Laija and sisters; Pomposa and Domitila. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2013 with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas located at 9521 North Loop; 79907. Funeral Service will be at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas. A Committal Service will follow and be said at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
