Samuel “Sammy” Moreno, 47, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 28, 2016. Sam was born in El Paso, TX on December 16, 1968. He graduated from Ysleta High School in 1987 and attended El Paso Community College. He moved to Colorado in 1997 where he opened his own business, Moreno Drilling and Blasting. His motto was “Shaping America One Blast at A Time.” He later became the President of the International Society of Explosive Engineers for the Colorado Chapter.
He loved hunting with his brothers, playing golf, country music and dancing, and laughing and joking with family and friends. Sam always said he was a jack of all trades and a master of ONE…
Sam was proceeded in death by his father Felix Moreno Jr. and brother Reynaldo Moreno. He leaves behind his mother Martha Moreno, grandmother Ernestina Alejo, wife, Mary Duran, daughter Ashley, sons, Sammy Jr and Christopher, brothers Eddie and Victor, sisters Susie and Linda, stepchildren Darla, Gabriel and Joel, grandchildren Jeremiah, Sebastian, Brianna, Timothy and Isabel and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and long- time friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. Mass will be said at 10:00 , Thursday August 4, 2016 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 131 S. Zaragoza. Interment will be private. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Americas.
