Sandra Irene Childress

Sandra Irene Childress departed to be face-to-face with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on September 24, 2013. Sandra was born August 30, 1949 in El Paso, TX to Wayne and Irene Arnold. She was a proud member of the 1966 graduating class of Ysleta High School. Sandra was a loving mother and devoted wife. She and her husband, Jim, recently celebrated 47 years of marriage. Sandra had a resolute presence, a grand sense of humor, and a stunning smile. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Donovan Arnold and brother, Mark Donovan Arnold. Sandra is survived by her mother, Ethel Irene McCarthy; sister, Linda Lou Weitman and husband, Gene, of El Paso, TX; brother, Steven Perry Arnold and wife, Kathy of Horizon City, TX; Husband, James Robert Childress, of El Paso, TX; daughter, April Lynne Simank and husband, Kevin of El Paso, TX; daughter, Kerri Gail Hanner and husband, Mike of Atlanta, TX; son James Robert Childress, Jr. and wife, Kristen of Portland, ME; daughter, Kristy Anne Villalobos and husband, Victor of Enterprise, AL; Nine Grandchildren - Ashley Simank Nahle and husband Chris; Cody Blake Childress; Alyssa Anne Villalobos; Caitlin Brianne Childress; Brittany Lee Gonzalez; Samantha Lynne Gonzalez; Morgan Haley Childress; Annemarie Grace Hanner; Cole Michael Hanner and Great Grandchild, Aralyn Ranae Nahle. Sandra is also survived by her mother-in-law, Mary Atkinson and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Gillispie; extended family and friends. We celebrate the life of Sandra, and know that her memories will linger among us. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013 at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2500 George Dieter; El Paso, TX 79936. Interment will be private.
