Sandra Jean Hale Roberts (74) Sandra Roberts passed away in El Paso, Texas on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the age of 74 after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Roberts was born, Sandra Jeans Hale, May 27, 1941 in Bartlesville, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Marion Hale, her sister, Ella Hale Marshall, her brothers, Richard Hale, Michael Hale, and Carl Hale and two grandsons, Seth Stephenson and Thomas Stephenson. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Alvin Roberts; two sisters: Mary Crites, Watonga, OK and Linda Hill, Huntsville, AL; two brothers: John Hale, Coffeyville, KS and Henry Hale, Elkins, AR; two daughters, Serena Roberts, Rogers, AR and Myfawnwy Stephenson and husband Mark, Chaparral, NM; her sons, Alvin Roberts and wife Rhonda, Seligman, MO; Paul Roberts and wife Jennifer, Bryan, TX. Her surviving grandchildren are Timothy Roberts and wife Dazea, Nathan and wife Rebecca Stephenson, Esther, Matthew, Bethany, Jonathan, Cherith, and Thaddaeus Stephenson; Kaitlin and Dakota Roberts, Zakary and Lilliana Sherman; and great granddaughters Ryan and Serana Roberts. Mrs. Roberts, a lifelong educator, has taught school in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Florida, Texas, New Mexico and Germany. She was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in El Paso for many years. Before an accident in 2002 left her paralyzed from the neck down, Mrs. Roberts loved to write, cook, sew, do crafts, travel and spend time with her grandchildren. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Funeral Service will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
