In Loving Memory of Santiago “Jimmy” Alvarado
July 04, 1940 – April 18, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Santiago “Jimmy” Alvarado, who departed this life peacefully on April 18, 2025, at the age of 84. He passed peacefully in his final moments.
Born in Fort Davis, Texas on July 4, 1940, Jimmy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved to play music, over the years, most notably with the Saints as the band’s lead guitarist. He was a man of many talents and earned a certification in welding where he crafted his metal works.
Jimmy was a committed military man, as part of the 101st Airborne division he wore proud all that represented the “Screaming Eagles”.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosemary; their two sons, Santiago “Jimmy” Jr. (Andrea) and Gilbert “Gil” Alvarado (Lynna); and his four grandchildren: Jake, Regan, Austin and Ryan. He is also remembered by his siblings, Betty, Eloy and Danny and was predeceased by his brothers Richard and Jacobo.
A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, May 01, 2025 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar. Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
Santiago “Jimmy” Alvarado was a devoted family man, talented musician, skilled welder, and proud 101st Airborne veteran whose life was defined by love, service, and creativity.
