Socorro “Sukie” Marin

November 23, 1939 – February 13, 2026

Our Mom, Socorro Marin, was called home by our Lord and Savior on February 13, 2026. God gave her to us for 86 beautiful years and we will forever be grateful for all that she has done for us. Our hearts are broken but we are holding on to the comfort of knowing she is at peace. She was our strength, our comfort and the one who loved us endlessly. Her kindness, her laughter and her devoted faith meant everything to us and will stay in our hearts forever.

She was an amazing mother, daughter, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Miguel Marin; her son, Mike Marin; her daughters-in-law, Rosa Marin and Diana Marin; her father, Juan Jose Morales; her mother, Faustina Morales; her brothers, Juan Morales and Adan Morales; and her sister, Consuelo Morales.

She is lovingly survived by her brothers, Francisco Morales and Leonardo Morales; her sons, Valentin Marin, Robert Marin, Victor Marin, and Daniel Marin; and her daughters, Betty Primera, Frances Medina, Delma Duran, and Elizabeth Marin. She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom she cherished deeply.

Sukie was truly loved, more than words can express. She often shared the words of Scripture:

“Alzare mis ojos a los montes de donde vendra mi Socorro. Mi Socorro viene de Jehova, Que hizo los cielos y la tierra.” Salmo 121.

We thank her for always being there for us and for touching the hearts of so many. We love you, Mama, and we will miss you forever.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life starting at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. A Second Visitation will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p,m., with interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
