Suzann C. Woidyla, 58, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in El Paso, Texas.
Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Suzann graduated from Eastwood High School before proudly serving in the United States Navy as a Dental Technician. She later served as a Master-at-Arms and was selected to attend Field Medical Training Battalion with the Fleet Marine Force—an honor reflecting her exceptional skill and dedication. Her service earned numerous commendations, including the Fleet Marine Force Ribbon, Navy Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Letter of Commendation, and Third Good Conduct Medal. She separated from the Navy as a Second-Class Petty Officer (E5).
Continuing her lifelong commitment to service, Suzann joined the City of Ocoee Police Department, where she became the department’s first female K-9 handler. Among her many professional honors, she received an award for “Outstanding Service in the Line of Duty by Saving a Human Life” and was named first runner-up for Officer of the Year.
Suzann was a compassionate and generous soul. For the past eight years, she lovingly cared for her mother. Her achievements and her drive for success was an inspiration to her siblings. She was also a talented artist who enjoyed drawing, painting, and creating steampunk-inspired pieces.
She is survived by her mother, Gloria Woidyla; and siblings, Wendell Woidyla; Leslie Cantrell; James Woidyla; Barbara Shackelford; Gloria Star Aiello; April Woidyla; and Crystal Guth.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home – East, 750 N. Carolina, El Paso, TX 79915.
