Teresa Acuña

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Teresa Acuna, who left us peacefully on November 14, 2024, at the age of 81. Teresa Acuna was a beacon of love, strength, and wisdom, whose legacy will forever remain in our hearts.

Born on June 28, 1943, in El Paso Texas, Teresa Acuna grew up surrounded by the rich traditions and vibrant culture of her city. She attended the pride of the south side, Bowie High School and got her GED at El Paso Community College.Her life was a testament to hard work and resilience. 

Teresa’s hands were never still; always caring for family, she was a hardworking homemaker and a magnificent cook, who’s recipes will live in her family for generations to come. Her faith was unwavering as she leaves a beautiful legacy to her whole family.

Teresa’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She taught us the importance of family, the value of perseverance, and the power of love, all while making us laugh at times throughout. Her legacy will live on through the countless memories we hold dear and the lessons she imparted. Teresa now rests eternally in the God’s Glory.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Maria Luisa Gardea, Also her beautiful granddaughter Crystal, She leaves behind her daughters Graciana Acuna-Gonzalez and Estela Medina, Her sons Alfonso Acuna Jr. and Mario Acuna. She was blessed by 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

We invite friends and family to join us in celebrating Teresa Acuna’s life. A Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 22, 2024 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 408 Park.
