Teresa Hernandez

Teresa Hernandez, 72, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014. She was born in Guadalajara, Mexico on October 7, 1941. She was an elementary teacher in Mexico. In 1977, she migrated to El Paso, Texas were she became an entrepreneur and started her own retail business. She was a high-spirited, independent, strong woman who enjoyed gardening with a green thumb especially for roses. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Librada Villegas; oldest daughter, Teresa De Jesus Ramos; and grandson, Christopher Ramos. She is survived by her children, Jose Hernandez, Patricia Galindo, Jaime Hernandez, Jesus Hernandez, Leticia Hernandez, and Sergio Hernandez; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 6 siblings. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm with a vigil at 6 pm Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home East. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am Monday at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
