Teresita Espejo Baggao

Teresita Espejo Baggao, 95, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, in the loving embrace of her family.

Teresita was born on January 1, 1931, in Banaoang, Santa, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to Gregorio de Peralta and Teofila Aglibut Espejo. On March 23, 1953, she married her devoted husband, Dominador, and together they began a wonderful adventure as a military family. Through every move and every challenge, Teresita was a steady, loving presence, making each place they lived feel like home.

While raising her seven children, Teresita continued working toward a personal goal. With dedication and determination, she returned to school and earned an associate’s degree in child development.

For more than 18 years, Teresita was a comforting presence at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. Known for her kindness, flexibility, and strong work ethic, she served in roles including Labor and Delivery Nursing Assistant and Surgical Ward Medical Clerk, caring for service members and their families with skill, compassion, and respect.

Beyond her career, Teresita found joy in life’s simple comforts—watching soap operas, daytime talk shows, and cooking programs, and preparing traditional Filipino meals that somehow tasted even better when she insisted you have just a little more. With patience and love, she crocheted countless blankets and gifts, stitching a little piece of herself into each one and keeping her family cozy for generations. And, in true fashion, she once declared that napping was her favorite hobby—a talent she practiced beautifully.

Teresita was the ultimate professional wrestling enthusiast, cheering on her favorite wrestlers or loudly booing the ultimate heel. Her fandom began in the 1970s and continued to the modern-day Monday night RAW and Friday night SmackDown. Nothing brought a bigger smile to her face or a louder roar than a beautifully executed, well-timed body slam.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing she is resting peacefully, surrounded by the everlasting love she gave so generously. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held close in our hearts.

She is survived by five of her seven children: Danny (Nancy), Ann, Irene (Robert), Jane (Mike), and Angelita (Steve); her son-in-law, Robert McCall (Marian); her sister-in-law, Teresita Ancheta Baggao; and a wide circle of beloved family and dear friends around the world.

She was the cherished grandmother of Elaine (Anthony), Blaine, Adam, Robert (Bernadette), Karin (Matthew), Steven, Kevin (Ashley), Kolton (Maranda), Kestral, Kody (Johanna), CJ, and Alyssah.

She was also blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren: Sasha, Isabel, Xavier, Olivia Gayle, Faith, Matthew, Raenah, Zoey, Maxwell, Zachary, Oliva Marie, Alexander, Alina, Elli, and Carson.

Teresita was welcomed into eternal rest by her husband, Dominador; her daughter, Marian; her son, David; her parents; her siblings, Leonida Batin, Melania Manglinong, Jose Espejo, Aurelio Espejo, and Marylou Berber; and her father- and mother-in-law, Louis and Eugenia Baggao.

Visitation: Thursday, September 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Homes Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass, El Paso, Texas 79904.

Rosary: Thursday, September 10, at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Homes Northeast.

Scripture Mass: Friday, September 11, at 9:00 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Homes Northeast.
