November 30, 1936 — August 24, 2026

Thomas Z. (Killer) Balliet, 89, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026.

Tom was born in Lehighton, Pa., on November 30, 1936. He graduated from Frankfurt American High School in June 1956, Frankfurt, Germany. Proudly serving his country in the United States Army, he returned to El Paso, Texas, to expand his career in the automotive field.

Tom worked for John Pennington, Courtesy Chevrolet, Shamley Ford, and Story Chevrolet as a Service Manager for over twenty years. In his later years, he had the opportunity to be a Master Automotive Technician teaching students at Western Tech.

His pleasures and joys would be traveling on his Golden Honda motorcycle across the country, playing in his dune buggy at Red Sands, camping in the mountains, and running his Vixen boat wide open on Elephant Butte. His heart was filled with joy and relaxation racing his Remote-Control Power Boats in cross-country events. A man for all seasons.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Col. Thomas G. and Della L. Balliet, and his sister Louise Procayne. He leaves behind his wife of sixty years, Sandy Balliet, one brother-in-law, and four sisters-in-law. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
