Ulualegalu Paueli Satele

1969 – November 7, 2025

Ulualegalu Paueli Satele, age 56, of Vailoatai, American Samoa, passed away on November 7, 2025. Known lovingly as Galu, he was a man of unwavering faith, steady strength, and deep devotion to his family, his culture, and his country.

Born in Vailoatai, Galu was raised in a home rich with fa‘a Samoa, respect, and Christian values. His mother, the late Pu‘a Hunkin Tavai, instilled in him a lifelong devotion to God—a foundation that shaped his character and guided every chapter of his life. It was this same faith that ultimately brought him and his beloved wife together.

Galu honorably served his country for 30 years in the United States Army, building a distinguished career in Army Aviation. He served with discipline, courage, and humility, embodying the true heart of a patriot. After retiring in 2017, he continued his service by volunteering at the Veterans Administration Center, offering support and compassion to fellow veterans.

Driven by purpose and always eager to grow, Galu became a real estate investor, founded LP Home Creations LLC, and later earned his license as a Life Insurance Agent with People Helping People (PHP)—each endeavor reflecting his commitment to helping families build stability and opportunity.

Galu lived life with intention and energy. A daily gym-goer and avid racquetball player, he embraced physical challenge and competition. His passion for rugby led him to coach the UTEP Men’s and Women’s Rugby Teams, where he mentored young athletes with strength, discipline, and heartfelt guidance. His dedication to the sport also led him to become an authorized rugby referee, officiating countless games across the region.

But above all these accomplishments—above his service, his leadership, and his many talents—stood his love for his wifeand son.

Galu’s devotion to his wife, Heather Cameron-Satele, was profound and unwavering. Their bond was rooted in faith, respect, and an unbreakable partnership. He cherished her as his companion, his confidant, and the blessing God placed in his life. To Galu, loving Heather was a calling he embraced every day.

As a father, Galu loved Geremiah Satele with a fierce, steady devotion. He took pride in every accomplishment, guided him with wisdom, protected him with strength, and nurtured him with gentleness. Geremiah was his joy, his legacy, and the person in whom Galu hoped to plant the values of faith, honor, and perseverance.

Galu loved his family with a depth that could be felt simply by being near him. He was the kind of man who would drop everything to ensure the safety, comfort, and happiness of those he loved.

Galu is survived by his loving spouse, Heather Cameron-Satele, and his cherished son, Geremiah Satele.

He is also survived by his beloved sisters:

  • Fa’animo Satele-Sunia

  • Fa’afetai Satele-Fifita

  • Iolesina L. Satele-Noa

  • Katerina Satele-Aunese

  • Leilua Masina Satele-Auelua

And by his brothers:

  • Lagoe‘e Teutusi Satele

  • Tamasaunoa Paueli Satele

  • Keith An Soon

  • Tapumania Satele

He was preceded in death by his parents, High Chief Fonoti Paueli Teutusi Satele and Pu‘a Hunkin Tavai, whose legacies of strength, faith, and service live on through their children.

Galu leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, love, and devotion. To honor the way he lived, we remember the scripture he carried in his heart:

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”—Ephesians 4:32

Though his passing brings profound sorrow, the life he lived—with purpose, humility, and devotion—continues to shine brightly through those who knew and loved him.
