Our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, Victor Manuel Garcia Jr., went home to be with our Lord on March 23, 2026.Jr., as he was called at home grew up in a ranch and loved riding horses, donkeys and playing in the cotton fields with his sister and cousins. He loved dogs and had many adorable ones throughout his life.Victor graduated from Riverside High School in 1975 where he played football and tennis and was on the tennis team. He was well known for his big afro and had many nicknames, "Afro", "Mod Squad" and "Sponge". However, "Afro" was his nickname throughout his life. He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth, and his kind soul. He loved to dance especially the '70's disco music. His love for tennis continued at UTEP where he also played on the tennis team. He enjoyed watching every US Open, Wimbledon, French Open and the Australian Open. He knew every player that had played and had won a Grand Slam. Victor was also a passionate gardener. He had over 60 beautiful plants throughout his yard and he knew the names of every one of them and how to care for them. He loved roses and had every color of bush that came to market. He shared many of his plants and his knowledge of plants with his relatives and neighbors. He will be forever in our hearts, rest in peace our dear gentle Jr. Victor/Jr. is survived by his father, Victor M. Garcia Sr, sister, Lizabeth Garcia, (Victor Villarreal), his only nephew, Sebastian Franz Villarreal, aunts, uncles and many cousins. Victor was predeceased by his mother, Elisa Frausto Garcia, brother Cristobal Garcia, grandparents, Manuel Frausto, Julia Frausto and Antonio Garcia, Tomasa Garcia.
Victor Manuel Garcia Jr., 69, Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Friday, April 10, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Homes -East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be April 11, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Little Flower Catholic Church, El Paso, Tx 79915.
