William Harrison was born to the late Frank Harrison. and Helen Jefferson Harrison on August 25, 1931 in Florence, South Carolina He was the second of two children. He and his brother Thomas Jefferson Harrison (Deceased) were both named after former U.S. presidents. He joined the United States Army May 22, 1954 in Camp Zama, Japan and served honorably for thirty years as an Administrative Specialist (71L) and Senior Supply Sergeant (76Z). His awards and decorations include the M-16 Rifle Expert Badge, National Defense Service Medal (1OLC), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5), Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (1OLC), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), and Legion of Merit. His tour of duty culminated with promotion to Sergeant Major. After retiring from the United States Army He continued to serve with distinction as a Department of the Army Civilian Supply Management and General Supply Specialist for thirty-seven years .William will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his work 24/7. To him, Retirement was a BAD WORD. William transitioned this earthly life June 14, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife and love of his life for 59 years, Eunsa Koo Harrison, sons: Scott (Claudia) and Glen; grandchildren: Elijah, Andre, Marcell, Sidney, Jasmine, Cynara, and Tiara; a host of other family and friends
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00pm on Tuesday June 28, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Committal Service will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors (East Shelter).
