Willie Pretiger, 72, born in Karlsruhe, Germany, the first of three children born in 1950, has passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Willie came to the  United States in 1959, with his parents and siblings moving to Colorado Springs and then to El Paso, Texas, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Alexis Yvonne Pretiger, in 1981.

He loved his wife and family more than anything in the world, always made sure they had what they needed and were always taken care of. Willie was very intelligent, a hard worker, avid gardener, provider, skilled and intuitive musician and singer, and an amazing cook always making a gourmet meal. On his part-time, he always enjoyed doing eBay sales, and most importantly, a family man.

He enlisted and served his country in the U.S. Navy during 1969-1975, abroad the USS Nathan Hale, USS Albacore and on the world's deepest diving submarine the USS Dolphin during the Vietnam War. Willie was then the store manager for many years at Furr's.

Which he opened and ran the supermarket at North Park Mall, Safeway, and Albertsons. He always made sure that his wife never had to work and was able to raise their children, he was  very proud of this. He was an extraordinary husband, father, son, brother, and grandpa. He was always very proud of his daughters and son accomplishments. He loved to spend time with his grandkids. When you didn't see him at the flea markets, he was always with his guitar, singing one of many tunes.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Maria Pretiger, and brother John Pretiger. He leaves behind his wife, Alexis Yvonne Pretiger, his daughter Sarah, and son-in-law Chuck Dominguez, his daughter Amanda, son-in-law Ted Edwards Jr., son Willie Jr.and daughter-in-law Melissa Pretiger. Grandchildren; Charles and Charlotte Dominguez, Ted Cecil Edwards III , Haley Cruce, and Jordan Reasoner, Hallie, Salleen, Deyton, and Rya Pretiger.  One great-grandson Timothy Jr., sister Mary Ann, and brother-in-law Adrian Madrigal, his nephews Michael and Shawn Madrigal. Sister-in-law Joyce Pretiger and nephews Justin and Chris Pretiger and Sister-in-law Connie Townsend and brother-in-law Brownlow Townsend.

Willie is now at peace; his life was a blessing, and all the memories together are a treasure. He will always and forever be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
