Winfred "Bill" W. White

Winfred William (Bill) White of El Paso, Texas passed away suddenly on May 7th 2013 at the age 61. Winfred was born August 21, 1951 in Berlin, Germany to Karl William White and Rosa Marie Borsutzki. He spent the first two years of his life in Germany before moving and spending his formative years in New Hampshire. After graduating from White Mountains Regional High School, Winfred joined the United States Army. During his 25-year military career, his travels took him all over the world in many varied assignments and locations before finally retiring in 1993 at Fort Bliss, Texas. Along with attending to his full time duties with the U.S. Government, Winfred obtained his Masters in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso and a Bachelors in Computer Science through the University of Maryland. Among his many interests were deep-sea scuba diving in Cancun, Mexico and the Cayman Islands. Winfred had a deep passion for history and a love for traveling. He was known as a selfless father, husband, friend and co-worker. He showed immense compassion for people and animals alike. Winfred is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Maureen White (Quinn), his children Darren Scott White and Meredith Kristin White both of El Paso and Heather Renee White of San Francisco. He is also survived by siblings Randolph Brian White and Heidi Marie White Planz of New Hampshire, Karla Kristine White of Vermont, and Robert Alan White of Illinois. A Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast from 5:00 – 9:00pm with a rosary at 6:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at St. Michaels Catholic Church Chapel #2 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 11:00am.
