Yolanda V. Ponce, 81, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026

Early Life

Yolanda was born in San Buenaventura, Chihuahua, Mexico. She worked as a secretary and a teacher before marrying the love of her life Omar in 1975.

Later Years

She dedicated her life to her family and friends. As a devoted mother, she was always present, supporting her children at school functions and cheering them on at their extracurricular activities. Her greatest joy and true calling, however, was being a grandmother, not only to her own grandchildren, but also to the grandchildren of her nieces and nephews. To so many, she was lovingly known as “Titi,” a name that represented the love, warmth, and special place she held in the hearts of everyone around her.

Preceded in Death and Survived by

Yolanda is preceded in death by her parents Eleuterio and Refugio, her siblings, Jose Alonso and Rosa Elena and her husband, Omar. She leaves behind her daughter Monica Yolanda (Gabriel), her son Omar, and her two beloved grandchildren, Angelique Elena and Noah Omar.

Funeral Service Times

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Tuesday October 13, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Homes-East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza.
