Roger Lee Taggart

Roger Lee Taggart, son of Frank and Lois Taggart, was born June 12, 1937, in Beloit, Wisconsin. After graduating high school in 1955, he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss where he was trained in the guided missiles program. Roger and Beulah Lee were set up on a blind date in 1959 and were married in 1960. Roger worked a short time for Philco and then for Raytheon at White Sands Missile Range as an engineer. He retired from Raytheon after 36 years of service. He passed away October 19, 2022.

 

Roger was always ready with help or advice on how to fix nearly anything and where to find the best bargain on whatever you needed to buy. He could also give lots of advice on politics.

He loved God, family, friends, dogs, coffee, and football. He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.

 

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, sister Loretta, brother Lowell, sister-in-law Charlene McClintick, and son-in-law Richard Aguirre. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Beulah Lee, daughters Shari Lee Aguirre and Bonnie Lucile Weber (Steve), son Brian Douglas Taggart, grandchildren Candace Aguirre, Rebecca Weber, Madeline Aguirre and Hunter Weber, brothers-in-law Dennis McClintick and Reeves Douglas Black, nieces Denise Kraft and Robin Phillips, nephews Stephen McClintick and Robert McClintick.

 

Roger chose to donate his body to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso’s Willed Body Program. In lieu of flowers, donations to TTUHSC El Paso or your favorite charity would be appreciated.

 

Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass, El Paso, Texas 79904. Interment will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at a later date.
